Day 1: May 1st: Departed from Tower Bridge, London.
Day 2: May 2nd: Through France.
Day 3: May 3rd: Car 87, your
time is up.
Day 6: May 6th: 'Resting' in Thessalinika. Our
heroes have had problems with the exhaust manifold and a
flat battery.
Day 7: May 7th: They arrive in Istanbul.
Day 9: May 9th: Ann reports from Istanbul that
they have had brake problems.
Day 11: May 11th: Teeth-rattling roads to Trabzon.
Day 12: May 12th: Great driving to Batumi, but
the suitcase is sent home.
Day 13: May 13th: Mountain tracks in Georgia.
Day 14: May 14th: Welding the exhaust manifold
in Tibiliski.
Day 17: May 17th: Rest day at Ashgabat,
Turkmenistan.
Day 19: May 19th: Our heroes suffer the 40°C
(104°F) desert in Uzbekistan.
Days 21-25: May 21st-25th: Peter has a bent back,
the car has broken steering, and the route deviates from
the plan in China.
Day 39: June 8th: Now the overheating has been
cured (the electric fan was wired the wrong way round, tee
hee), Peter and Ann have battled with the Chinese roads,
and route changes, to finally arrive in Peking. Half way
round the world.
Day 51: June 19th: The Rally crossed the date
line to Anchorage, Alaska, and has proceeded to Smithers,
BC, Canada. Peter and Ann have been exploring hedges and
ditches, not entirely deliberately.
Day 72: July 10th: After a long haul along the
gravel roads of North America, the rally has crossed the
Atlantic to Morocco.
Day 80: July 18th: Our heroes have not only
battled through the London traffic, but have even arrived
safely at their home in Scotland.
